Semtech Announces the Immediate Availability of FiberEdge™ Driver for 5G Wireless Applications
Linear packaged laser driver delivers exceptional performance over industrial temperature range
CAMARILLO, Calif., Mar. 10, 2020 – Semtech Corporation (Nasdaq: SMTC), a leading supplier of high performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms, today announced the availability of the GN1840, a linear 26GBaud, packaged DML driver for 5G wireless applications.

Transceiver vendors and system integrators recognize the multitude of challenges involved with successfully developing systems based on PAM4 signaling. The GN1840 delivers high bandwidth, low total harmonic distortion (THD) and group delay variation (GDV) that directly translate to optical link margin necessary to help overcome PAM4 related performance obstacles.
The GN1840 is a low power, high bandwidth, packaged DML driver that operates over an industrial temperature range. The GN1840’s high bias and modulation current driving abilities make it ideal for 50GBASE-LR and 200GBASE-LR4 applications. The GN1840 is available now with full production targeted for later this year.
